Are these referral templates really free to customize?▼
Yes. Editing any template in the PostKnock Design Studio is free, with no credit card required. You only pay per piece when you actually mail — from $1.05 per 4×6 card on the Free plan and from $0.79 on Pro. Printing and USPS First-Class postage are included in that per-piece price.
What makes a good referral postcard?▼
A clear two-sided offer works best: a reward for the customer who refers and a welcome deal for the friend they bring. Add a warm headline, your business name and phone number, and an easy next step such as a QR code to a referral form or booking page. Make the postcard something people will want to hand to a friend. Every field in these templates is editable.
Do referral postcards actually work?▼
Results vary by industry, offer, and how engaged your customer list is, so treat any number as an estimate. Industry studies (such as the ANA Response Rate Report) typically report direct-mail response in the low single digits, with house lists — like your own loyal customers — landing toward the higher end of that range. Pairing the postcard with a follow-up phone call generally lifts response further.
How does the QR code track referrals?▼
Each postcard carries a QR code you can point at your booking page, a referral sign-up form, or your phone number. PostKnock tracks QR scans, so you can see how many people engaged with a referral campaign. For attributing a specific friend to a specific referrer, send them to a form or page that captures that — the QR just makes it one tap to get there.
Which industries do you have templates for?▼
PostKnock includes pre-built playbooks and starting designs for 50+ industries — dental, med spa, gym and fitness, hair and nail salons, optometry, veterinary, chiropractic, plumbing, HVAC, landscaping, and many more. The three above are examples; you can adapt any template to your business in the Design Studio.
How do I get my customer list into PostKnock?▼
Export your loyal or most-engaged customers from whatever system you already use — sort by visits, spend, or tenure — as a CSV file, then upload that CSV to PostKnock. The import wizard auto-maps name, address, and phone columns. PostKnock does not connect to your CRM or practice software directly; the supported path is CSV export and import.
Can I add follow-up phone calls to a referral campaign?▼
Yes, on the Pro plan. After a postcard is delivered, the built-in Call Queue populates so your front desk can work a daily list of follow-up calls using per-wave scripts — a great way to thank loyal customers and remind them about the referral offer. You can also run multi-touch wave sequences (up to 5 waves) so non-responders automatically advance to the next touch.
What postcard sizes can I send?▼
PostKnock supports three sizes: 4×6, 6×9, and 6×11. The templates above are shown at 4×6, the most common and lowest-cost option. You can switch sizes in the Design Studio, and EDDM-style saturation mailing is available when you want to blanket a neighborhood instead of a named list.
